Amazon is the World’s biggest and most powerful digital market place. There are a couple different sections of Amazon. The first being the normal section for the common buyer. They see all the basics, but there are some features that they are locked out of.  The second section is Amazon Prime, where people who are subscribed to Amazon Prime will see the extra features that come with it, like 2-day shipping. The third section is Amazon Business, where business owners can sell their product through Amazon at a 15-20% sales rate.

Amazon Prime is a paid service that devoted Amazon users can use to improve their experience. They get many added features like 2-day shipping, same-day shipping, Amazon services like Music, Video, and Photos. There are many other perks that are included in Amazon Prime.

Amazon Business is a program for businesses that can’t afford to ship their products to their customers. Amazon also has a program called Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA). This is a program where a business will give their products to Amazon to store, ship, and deliver for 20% cut of the product.  FBA also covers customer service and return policies. Amazon Business will help expand your market to the world and will help expand your business.

Distribution Centers: Amazon has strategically placed distribution centers in populated areas

Overall, Amazon is a very good market place that people can use to expand their business.

What I did today in class

Today in class, we learned a lot about making a website.

CMS (Content management systems) is the first thing we talked about. This software manages the code for the website so that you don‘t have to.

We then selected a new theme for our website, which changed the overall look of the website.

We made a static home page, as the default one showed all blog posts, which we didn’t want happening.

We then made ‘parent pages’ and ‘child pages’. The parent page is what is shown on the navigation bar, the child page is what is shown while hovering the mouse above the parent page tab.

Overall, we learned a lot about the basics of webdesign, and set our selves up to continue working on our websites in the near future.
